Believe

Description

In 2001 Dark Side Cowboys under the short name DSC delivered “Believe”, a brand new album containing 11 new songs, all with the improved but still unique DSC-soundscape. Catchy tunes were mixed with heavy danceable beats, brutal guitars and massive electronic soundscapes.

On the “Believe” album you can find dark and powerful songs like “Lost Generation”, the titletrack “Believe” and the atmospheric “Subzero” among others. This is without a doubt the most popular DSC-album from their first 10 years in the business.

New Religion

Description

New Religion is the first single released from the successful Believe-album and also a turning point in the sound of DSC, bringing a more traditional type of song structures to the audience. “New Religion” is probably the most popular and played DSC-song up to date and it went straight up to no1 on the Finnish Gothic/Industrial Chart.. As the title implies, DSC once again moved in a new direction, breaking the boundaries of what’s believed to be sacred for it’s time…

High

Description

This is the sequel to the Disclosure album and was released to the fans in 1999, resulting in another chart position for the Cowboys. The album takes the listener through a series of events to give answers to some of the questions put in mind during Disclosure – Episode I and to bring to surface a couple of new ones as well.

Musically DSC takes on a new type of sound with this production, containing massive guitar-riffs, soothing ballads, sweaping melodies and vocals both soft and brutal. All this mixed together in a clean production makes High a very strong album from the Dark Side.

Most

Description

This fully packed album (19 tracks) passing the 70 minutes border of runningtime was actually released and sold as a CDM (believe it or not). Most contains the second single from the album High and also a bonus single named “Tears for You”, that refers back to the Cowboys’ first album The Apocryphal. And as if that wasn’t enough, DSC invites to a third chapter and deliver special bonus tracks with remixes by bands like Red Butt Closeup and Soulgrinder. The Most single itself is a very intense and somewhat brutal experience.

Disclosure

Description

Disclosure is the second album from Dark Side Cowboys, presenting a new and improved soundscape. This album is the first episode of a futuristic whodunit that might answer many questions about what DSC have been up to during the years… The music on this album is somewhat moodier and darker than before but still with the unexpected twists of their past releases.

Mick Mercer (journalist and author of the book: Hex Files) descibed “Autumn Song” the following way: “…they produce an impressingly lavish lather and when they get lively on the chorus, whole buildings fall apart.” The Disclosure-story takes the listener far away to the city of Acropolis to seal the fate of an crime-fighting agent and his companions in the battle for their lifes.

Review – A Collection Of Demotracks

Description

Review is the title of a compilation, a sort of “best of” demotapes. It was released on the independent UK label M&E and also in a swedish limited promotion edition.

On this cassette you’ll find excerpts from DSC’s demotapes. We have chosen to include some of the tracks that have not been released on CD among with old versions of songs that later on have appeared re-recorded on CD. One could look at this as a sort of “best of” – early material – tape and that is what it is ment to be.
